Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse in Medium Matte Review

Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse in Medium Matte

I never used to be a fake tan girl, but these days if i’m getting my legs out on a night out, they have to be tanned, I think it makes them look nicer and slimmer, and who doesn’t love being tan? The latest fake tan to make it’s way to me is the Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse in Medium Matte*

At first I was a little unsure how to use the tan, as there were no clear instructions on the bottle saying instant, but no instructions saying to leave on overnight either. After a few tweets to Rimmel (they were really helpful and got back to me quickly), I worked out how to use it and I was off!

The tan claims to give instant colour, whilst developing in an hour to give a natural looking even tan that lasts for up to 7 days. I applied this, quite liberally, around 4pm before a night out and by 8pm I was looking dark. A good, natural, streak free, even dark! I had a few issues with the tan clinging to my dry eczema patches, but that was inevitable, even after moisturising. The instant colour can wash off with soap and water, but after showering the next morning I was left with a lovely golden tan, which wasn’t quite as dark, but a perfect golden shade. I think it is recommended to leave this on overnight, but it works well as an instant tan too. I found the tan dried super quickly and didn’t rub off onto any of my clothes, bonus! I really love this tan and it has quickly become my fave go to tan, as it is so affordable at £8 a pop and foolproof too, there’s nothing not to love! I’ve even found myself reaching for this over my beloved St Tropez Express Mousse, and I think I like it more!

Have any of you tried this fake tan, or any fake tans by Rimmel? What is your all time favourite fake tan?
