Discovering Daytox : Vegan and Cruelty Free Skincare

My blog has felt a little lost lately. The blogging world is booming and amongst that everyone is striving for success. However this is where I got a little lost, as I wasn’t striving for ‘success’, or least not financial success or a growth spurt. My blog has always and will always be for me. It’s taken me a good few months to figure out what I’ll be posting, but i’ve decided to just share everything I love. From travel, to food and drink, books I’ve loved, current cruelty free beauty faves, running tips and adventures and more. I almost put off blogging because I felt like I didn’t have a clear niche (ergh anyone else loathe that word?). But who cares, i’m back! After my post on my cruelty free journey, this seemed like the perfect time to get going with some vegan skincare loving.

Since attempting to bring my blog back to life a little i’ve managed to try out a few new products. A range of products that has recently excited me is the cruelty free, vegan and paraben/silicone range from Daytox. The older i’ve got, the more i’ve appreciated skincare and I am now more willing to spend more money on skincare, and less money on makeup. I honestly believe that a good skincare routine means most makeup looks decent!

Daytox Vegan Skincare

The brand, based in Germany, use plant-based formulations and active ingredients of highest quality to ensure the best possible results. Their formulas are developed in close collaboration with experienced laboratory and skin care experts in a strictly controlled process and unlike other brands, they have created their very own key ingredient formula – the highly active DETOX complex BioDtox.  This unique skin detoxifier uses an exclusive blend of aloe verabroccoliand citrus. DAYTOX have found that when these three ingredients combine, they boost the body’s defences and stimulate the detoxification of the skin. BioDtox inhibits the formation of free radicals and protects the skin against oxidative stress.

Hydrating H Serum, 30ml – £26 on Zest Beauty

I’m pretty good with my skincare, but one area I find that I can get a little lazy with, is a serum. This antioxidant Hyaluronic Serum acts as an anti-aging “bodyguard”, reduces redness and improves the evenness of the skin. The serum does contain a generous quantity of hyaluronic acid; which intensively nourishes the skin from the inside. I really appreciate when a product (especially one that goes on your face) contains as few chemicals and ingredients as possible. This serum contains just 8 (Aqua, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Propanediol, Bioflavonoids, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract) which is also a winner.

Face Oil, 30ml – £24 on Zest Beauty

I’ve never really given facial oils a proper go, so I was keen to give this one a go. The Night & Day Facial Oil is a fast-absorbing dry oil for the face and neck. The oil contains almond and argan oil, and the combination of antioxidants, essential fatty acids and the high vitamin E content support the rejuvenation process. The oil is reccommended to be used daily, although I found I used it every other day or so, or when I remembered tbh. A little certainly went a long way, I can see the oil and serum definitely lasting a long time!

Clay Mask, 100ml – £20 on Zest Beauty

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I adore a face mask. I use face mask between 3-4 times a week, using a combination of detoxing, declogging and moisturising formulas. My favourites include the Origins Drink Up Intensive, Origins Clear Improvements active charcoal mask, Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask, and the Charlotte Tilbury Multi Miracle Glow Balm.

The Daytox clay mask is made with natural healing clay, and has a calming, clarifying and moisturizing effect, especially for stressed and impure skin. The clay is great as it moisturises, heals any inflammation and regulates excess sebum. The active detox ingredient, ‘BioDtox’ cleanses deeply, whilst the Meadowfoam oil nourishes the surface and leaves a silky-soft skin feeling. I love a good pore cleansing mask, and this did just that. I sometimes find these types of masks can leave my skin looking rather inflamed and sore, but this did not have that effect – which was great!

Daytox is a German brand, but can be found online on Zest Beauty, and in Waitrose. I really enjoyed trying out a new skincare brand, and the three products that I tried out complimented each other really well. I also really enjoyed the packaging – that matte soft touch, and squeezy mask tube is also a winner. Whilst I enjoyed trying out a new skincare brand and they were good on my skin, I’m not sure I would repurchase as I do love my Origins and Antipodes too much. But they are definitely a welcome addition to my growing skincare collection!
