Since going quite a lot darker for my photoshoot with Superdrug and Schwarzkopf back at the end of 2016, i’ve been wanting to do the opposite, and go lighter. Classic eh. I’ve had my hair done at a Headmasters, back in 2013 at the Brighton salon – but since then I haven’t managed to venture back to one as I haven’t had one local to me. But that has recently changed and now I have 2 Headmasters salons within 15 minutes of me, in Wokingham and Windsor. I missed the opening of the Windsor salon a few months back but recently I finally got the chance to head down to the salon to check it out for myself and also have a pamper morning and get my hair done. I was lucky enough to have an appointment booked with Michael, the franchisee of the Windsor salon, so I was more than very well looked after. After having a chat and consultation of what I was after, Michael applied the lightening base in a balyage style, ensuring the toner and colour created a super natural effect. After this I was whisked away to the sink area where I had a great time with the massage chair and mood lighting. After the toner had been applied I also had a luxurious L’Oreal Smartbond Treatment to make sure that my hair was in the best possible condition. And then it was time for the blow dry, curling and look at the colour. I loved how subtle the colour was, but how it’s provided me with a lovely lighter base towards the mid and ends that I can build up the lightness over the next few months.
I love what Michael did with the colour as it looks so so natural and subtle but is also definitely a little lighter from my mid lengths to ends, and It’s definitely made me want to go up a notch and go a little lighter in the future. I felt super comfortable in Michael’s hands and totally trusted his expertise, ideas and opinions and that is exactly what you want from a visit to a salon, i’ve had some shocking experiences where i’ve left unhappy with the final result so it was lovely to feel comfortable and at ease.
I had a lovely time at the Windsor Headmasters salon and I have no doubt i’ll be venturing back when I fancy going a little more lighter again! In the meantime i’ll be keeping it nicely maintained with my fave Redken range.
