The Lexicon at Christmas

Now, this post has been a long time coming. I have lived in Bracknell since forever, and since forever we’ve been promised a town regeneration, and a few months ago phase one was unveiled, and oh wow. The wait was probably worth it because The Lexicon is stunning! We’ve gone from the well Loved Princess Square and Band Stand with Woolworths, Claires Accessories and a Topshop (highlight of the town for teenage Soph) to an incredible modern, spectacular town centre. With various ‘walks’ and areas, with a WHOLE lane dedicated to eateries such as Tangs, Prezzo, Pizza Express, Wagamama, Nandos, Carluccios (and more) it’s been quite the unveiling. We’ve now been blessed with a super luxe Fenwicks that houses brands such as Jo Malone, Urban Decay, MAC, Nars and the holy grail – Charlotte Tilbury! We’ve got literally every clothes shop you could ever need, including a mammoth Primark, River Island and every typical high street brand, although no Zara as of yet….

Since opening the town has been flooded with both super excited and eager local Bracknell folk, to people visiting from other towns, which has been amazing to see.  in November The Lexicon released footfall figures for the first nine weeks since its opening on September 7 2017, and there have been more than three million visits to the new town centre, which compares to 820,000 for the same period last year – which is just MIND blowing for Bracknell! And it’s not just the shops and restaurants that make the Lexicon what it is, it’s also all the fun seasonal events that are now going on, creating such an atmosphere. Over the festive period theres a lot to see and do! One of my favourite additions is the giant post box that has popped up over night outside Pandora. The giant post box gives shoppers the opportunity to post a Christmas wish request for a loved one in the box, and aftr the box closes on Sunday 17th December – 5 Christmas wishes will be made a reality. This box is such a lovely idea and it’s created a sense of curiosity too, with people going to have a little nosey and then posting a wish.

And it doesn’t stop there – recently The Lexicon have launched a gift card which can be used in over 70 retailers, restaurants and cafes based in the town centre, and is available in denominations of £5 up to a maximum value of £1,000 – making Christmas gifts and treats so much easier! To celebrate the launch of the gift card I was gifted a Lexicon giftcard, preloaded with £50. I haven’t managed to purchase anything yet as I simply can’t decide whether to treat myself, or to be sensible and use it to do some of my Christmas shopping. Although this is me, and I have seen a Pandora ring that tickles my fancy….

I was gifted a gift card but all opinions are my own.
