I’ve made a lot of goals for 2017 but the main theme to the majority of them have been to be a better person. Spend more time bettering myself and helping my local community, the environment, the planet, and animals and humans around me. One step that I would like to take, is one towards ensuring I only invest in cruelty free brands and products. I’ve been reading up a lot about the topic and have also learnt a lot. I’m not going to straight up bin all the products I have that don’t come from a cruelty free background, as that would be a waste. But this year I want to make sure that going forward I only buy beauty products from cruelty free brands. It’s going to be hard, but hopefully is something I can really support. One brand that makes the cruelty free list is Me Me Me Cosmetics, so I thought I would put together a cute valentines look using some of their top products.
For my base I used my standard base products, however I used The Ultimate Eye Palette in Soft Rose (£15) on my eyes, with their Eyeshadow Brush (£7). I was excited to try this palette, however for the price point I was a little disappointed. Some shades had little to no colour pay off, and the shades were all super shimmery and sheer. I did really like the eyeshadow brush, it is a great size and the flatness means it’s great for packing on colour. I used the Eye Sweep, Precision Liquid Eye Definer (£8.95) to do my usual cat eye liner and flick and I really liked it. The liquid liner is a felt tip liner, my fave type of liquid liner, and the liner is super black, pigmented and long lasting. To finish off my eyes, I used the Dark & Divine Mascara (£8) which I have been really loving. I adore mascara, and I typically use a few different ones to achieve my desired look. This mascara is GREAT for lengthening, so i’ve been using this as my first layer of mascara and it’s made an amazing difference in the look of my lashes. The wand is also great for coating the bottom lashes.
After I had done my eyes, it was time to finish my face, and I think this is where Me Me Me Cosmetics really stand out. Their base/face products are all kind of Benefit dupes, but I actually prefer some of them, and they’re much more affordable. The Beat The Blues highlighter in Oyster Gold (£5.95) is the most dreamy gold/nude highlight, and is just SO lush. The Blush Me boxed powders are really pretty, and I tried out the Matte Bronze (£9.95) and Rouge (£9.95) and they were so pretty. The matte bronze is the perfect ashy, matte shade for a contour, and normally I hate those flat brushes that you get free with boxed blushers/bronzers, but the shape is actually perfect for using under your cheek bone to get a sharp and precise contour. The Rouge blusher was maybe a touch too shimmery for me, but nonetheless still pretty, and full of colour.
And to finish off my Valentines look I used the Long Wear Satin Lipstick in Persian Pink (£9.95) with a touch of the Rich Colour Lip Glaze in Pink Champagne (£8). This lip combo has actually become my go to lip combo (after the CT Pillow Talk lippy), as it’s the perfect neutral/nude blush pink, and is subtle yet really ties together a look.
What products are you loving right now?
