October has been a hectic month for me, I got back from the US and i’ve thrown myself into job hunting and getting this blog back on track. I’ve really missed doing things like favourite posts and I haven’t done one for SO LONG. This month i’ve been rediscovering some things i’ve had lurking in my collection for a while, and testing out some new products which I have loved.
The Caudalie The Eye Cream has been a solid favourite this month, as after I found my first grey hair in America and then realised I’ve started to get under eye wrinkles when I smile. i’ve been freaking out. This lovely little squeezy gold tube is such a great size, and a little goes a long way. The cream is really refreshing and lets all pray for my under eye wrinkles. Due to said wrinkles, and one lone grey hair, i’ve been trying to detract from this and have amped up the volume with my lashes, thanks to the Code Beautiful VLM Mascara. This mascara is amazing, the brush is right up my alley and the look it gives is incredible, check out my review here. I’m part of the Stylist Beauty Council and recently was sent the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish in 069 Tipsy Gypsy and the daylight curing gel top coat. I’m always sceptical of things like this as I adore my trusty Red Carpet Gel Manicure kit. However this pleasantly surprised me. I do love Sally Hansen and the brush on these polishes are basically my dream nail painting brushes, and I always love a hot pink. It didn’t take too long to dry and I only ended up sort of smudging one nail, which is impressive for me. The polishes are really easy to use, just apply 2 coats of the Miracle Gel Colour, allow to dry for around 5 minutes, then apply 1 coat of the Miracle Gel Top Coat and then let natural light work its magic to help them dry. I loveee the glossy finish of these and they didn’t chip right away, which nails always do for me. My last beauty fave this month has been the Seventeen Skin Wow Highlighter which I received as part of a very generous goody bag at one of their Seventeen Blogger Network events. The event itself was really lovely, and whilst I was there I had the highlighter used on me and I loved it. It’s liquid formula means it’s super easy to use, and really buildable, depending on how you want it.Now this weather has been wreaking havoc on my hair and the latest product from Sexy Hair, the Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof Spray has been SO handy. The spray is a high-performance humidity resistant spray perfect for keeping blowouts, up do’s and curls intact, removing any chances of the dreaded hairmishap.
I have had a few non-beauty faves this month, so I thought I would delve into those as well. First up, the cinema. I feel a bit old school having the cinema as a fave, but i’ve seen 2 films at the cinema this month; Bridget Jones Baby, like the most hilarious FILM ever, I think it was actually better/more funny than the second one, and The Girl On The Train. Now i’m not sure how I feel about this film, the book is definitely better in my opinion. But seeing this film marked my first ever solo cinema trip. And you know what, it was nice. I’ve come to the conclusion that you don’t really need to have someone to go to the cinema with, if you want to see a film, just go. It’s not like you can natter away anyway. It was really fun, and I actually ended up being the only person watching the film too, which was a little bit creepy but also fun, it was like a super private personal viewing. Another lifey fave this month has been Slimming World. I don’t really talk about my Slimming World journey on my blog much, but if you want to hear about it, let me know and i’ll do a few posts. However this month i’ve loved getting back on track after being totally off plan in America. I somehow only gained 2lbs in America, and lost it the week I was back, so it’s nice to be back in control and on a pre-Christmas mission to reach target!!
What have you been loving in October?
