Beauty boxes aren’t for everyone, especially the indecisive people like me. Instead of signing up to regular boxes, I like to dabble in between beauty boxes every few months, and the most recent one I tried is the Look Fantastic May Beauty Box. I love beauty box packaging, they’re always so well thought out, and the designs and accompanying magazines so beautiful. This months box had a #LFHELLOBEAUTIFUL theme, and the bright sea green lid with pink foil embossment is so pretty and the lovely quote inside was a thoughtful touch as it says ‘Leave a little sparkle wherever you go’ – which is a great motto to live by! The May box is packed with beauty treats deigned to show off and grow the beauty you were born with, featuring brands such as Decleor, Eve Lom and IOMA, guaranteeting a radiant complexion. And as well as just the beauty box, this month you get a June 2016 copy of Elle too, ahead of the shops, amazing!
Ren Wake Wonderful Night Time Facial
This overnight treatment from REN combines Glycolic and Lactic Acids to brighten and refine the skin tone, Cranberry Seed Oil to reduce UV damage, Arctic Blackcurrant Seed Oil to repair cells and tissue, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids to reduce pigmentation. The treatment works in 3 phases while you sleep, to revitalise the skin, infuse it with moisture, and enhance cell turnover. Resulting in a brighter, more radiant complexion when your wake up! REN minis are always my fave, as I adore all of their products, and this night time facial is actually one that I haven’t tried yet, and I really liked. This is the perfect product to pop in your bag for a weekend away as your skin will look perfectly hydrated when you wake up, and I really enjoyed using this one Friday night after a long, long week.
IOMA Youthful Moisture Cream
When I saw this little package inside my box, I wasn’t quite sure what it was – was it a supplement, pills, something edible? It was in fact 7 little pods of moisture, which are infused with Soya and Cotton Oil, which help to increase the production of collagen in the skin and regenerate cells; helping to tone and keep skin firm and youthful. These again are perfect for travel as you can pop off however many pods you may need and leave skin feeling hydrated, plump and super smooth.
Revlon Uniq One All In One Hair Treatment
I am really into my haircare products at the moment, and love alllll the hair oils. And whilst this little dinky tube may be called Uniq One, this special hair treatment actually has 10 benefits that give you gorgeously healthy, shiny, and protected hair. It repairs dry and damaged fibres, gives incredible heat protection, improves shine, promotes smoothness, protects coloured hair, detangles, provides hold, prevents split ends and adds body and volume, all whilst containing UVA and UVB filters. PHEW. I mean what other haircare product will you ever need, ever again? I know it’s old news, but AGAIN, this product would make a very nifty travel essential!
Wet Brush
Following on from hair, I was really excited to see a full size Wet Brush, as I have a miniature and this i sjust bigger and BETTER. I’ve tried alll the ‘good for your hair’ brushes and this has been my fave for a while, and the handle makes it super easy to use (tangle teezer take note). I love using this on wet hair, dry hair, bedhead hair, any hair, and even though I don’t particularly love the orange colour, I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE THIS IN MY LIFE.
Vichy Liftacitv Supreme
I love Vichy, so when I saw this adorable but generously sized pot of the Liftactiv Supreme Moisturiser I was excited! This moisturiser has been specially formulated to firm and tone the skin; targeting signs of fine lines and wrinkles. It evens out skin tone, brightens the complexion and delivers intense hydration, boosting radiance. This moisturiser is also both paraben-free and hypo-allergenic, making it a great option for those with sensitive skin, aka me. I’ve been really enjoying this as both a day and night cream, and I love how versatile yet effective it is and rejuvenating skin.
Decleor Intense Nutrition Cream
Decleor is known as a luxurious skincare brand, and although I was a bit meh at the sight of it (due to it always being in beauty boxes), I was glad I gave it the benefit of the doubt as this cream is great for perking up tired complexions and is a nice no frills product.
Eve Lom Cleanser and Muslin Cloth
This product wasn’t mentioned in the magazine, so I don’t know if it is a product everyone receives or if it magically made it’s way inside my box, but i’m glad it did. The great thing about this sample is that it included a super and handy muslin cloth, as well as a generous sachet of product that can easily last for a morning and evening cleanse. I really like this cleanser, and there is a reason it is a cult classic as makeup melts off effortlessly and it leaves your skin feeling fab afterwards!
I really enjoyed the holisitic approach behind this months box and I think the products would all make FAB holiday products, especially after sitting out in the sun and adding moisture to your skin and hair.
Have you tried any beauty boxes recently, do you have a fave?
