Benefit are hands down one of the most innovative and fun beauty brands about. They seem to just get what people want, and although their latest venture isn’t a beauty release, it is SO much better. The Good Ship Benefit, situated on the Victoria Embankment (literally just outside of Embankment station) is a glorious pink, beauty filled ship. The various rooms and decks are inspired by products, and the attention to detail is just stunning, with a Lashitude, San Francisco inspired restaurant on the upper deck, to the glorious Hoola Deck, this is a place you need to visit asap. The other rooms, including the Pinkton Parlour bar, Brow Lounge (where you can enjoy afternoon tea and bottomless brunches), Benefit Boutique and Brow Bar and the secret Porefessional Vault – the ship is quite the adventure and is the perfect place to kick back, relax and truly embrace the Benefit brand and spirit.
I was invited along by the babes at House of Fraser for a beauty master-class with Lauren from Benefit, who is the assistant makeup and trend artist, and she performed a live master-class with the new Cheekathon palette, and oh what a palette (Review coming VERY soon). Lauren went through a lovely natural, very Benefit look, using the That Gal Primer as a base, the Hello Flawless Foundation, the Porefessional: Agent Zero Shine, Gimme Brow on the brows, Stay Don’t Stray eye primer, and then a wash of Hoola bronzer over the eyelids as a colour, which looked stunning, finishing up the lashes with a coat of the Roller Lash Mascara. Oh and of course the Cheekathon Palette came out to play – Hoola dusted all over the face for a wash of colour, and some of Dandelion on the apples of the cheeks, which really finished the look and gave the face such a lovely glow.
After the masterclass we were allowed to roam the ship and explore, as well as get our brows done, indulge in makeovers, and chat to the experts. Erica had a lovely makeover, including a pretty amazing contour and bronze, and we were both very impressed!
The Cheekathon Palette retails for £44.50 on House of Fraser, and considering you get 5 full sized blushers and bronzers inside which each retail for £23.50, you are getting a deal, and the packaging is just flawless and would make such a pretty makeup present.
Keep your eyes peeled for a full Cheekathon Palette review very soon, and if you want to visit the ship, definitely do – it is a pink DREAM.
