Beauty Products From Next

Apologies for these being a bit on the grey and dark side – I attempted to take photos one evening when I got in from work and thought they were okay but alas, not the case.

When I think of Next I think of comfortable, nice, sensible shoes, my mum, and those crazy 5am sales they do, where people actually lose the plot. However their latest beauty range challenges all of those presumptions, and instead presents a really lovely, affordable range of everyday products that anyone can use. I recently went to a super cool event after work at the Ice Tank in Covent Garden where we watched the super glam and gorgeous Lydia Millen apply a day time and night time look, using some of these gorgeous products, all whilst enjoying some drinks, canapes and mingling with fellow bloggers. We also got the chance to peruse the many beauty (and some homeware) products scattered around the room, and oh wow there are some lovely products. My favourites have to include the Make Me Beautiful Blusher, Make me Beautiful High Shine Lip Colour in Coral Crush, Make Me Beautiful Sheer Chubby Sticks, their nail polishes and Make Me Beautiful Liquid Eye Pen in Praline Brown. The blusher in particular is one of my faves as it works as a gorgeous highlighter-esque blush that just brightens and illuminates the face without making you look like a disco ball. The high shine lip colours are also stunning as they are so smooth and moisturising yet they add a gorgeous wash of colour, and the packaging is a little Dior like too, which is a winner. I was a little dubious about the shade of lip crayon, as irl it looks like a shimmer eye pencil, but it in fact leaves a faint nude colour on the lips, with a sutble gold shimmer running through – which is actually quite fun and works really well with a super bold eye look on a night out.

Have you tried any beauty, or cosmetic products from next recently, what did you think? Have you seen any that you would like to try?

Sophie xx
