The other day I was having a chat with a few girls and one was astonished that at 22 I am investing in my skincare and trying to prevent ageing in the future. I’m not talking whacky lotions and potions or botex, but adding simple products into my daily skincare routine which look after my skin as much as possible now to prevent extra signs of ageing further down the line. The Body Shop’s Drops of Youth range is the range that does just that and the new Youth Essence-Lotion and Youth Cream are the perfect simple products that anyone can add into their routine. The Youth Essence-Lotion is a lovely unique gel-to-water liquid that is the essential first step to add in after cleansing, to prepare skin for the next steps of your skincare routine. The lotion triggers visibly fresh youthful-looking skin as it feels replenished with moisture, pores look refined and skin feels instantly smoother. I’ve really enjoyed adding this step into my routine in particular as it really feels like I’m doing something beneficial to my skin and I love the effects of the stem cells within the products. Stem cells are the ‘renewal engine’ of a plant, making it thrive and renew and are one of the strongest regenerating powers in nature. Both the Youth Essence-Lotion and Youth Cream contain the 3 potent plant stem cells that are known for their renewing properties; Edelweiss for it protective properties, sea holly for its forming properties and criste marine for helping natural skin renewal. The creams velvety-smooth lightly whipped texture is so refreshing and I love how the cream sinks into the skin. My skin absolutely drinks this cream up and I love that absorbs into the skin well and doesn’t leave a greasy trace/or residue on the skin. I also really like how it almost feels like you’re applying your daily primer as it is super smoothing. Simply use every day after applying serum, and before your makeup, or go fresh faced. I noticed that my skin immediately looked more hydrated, and the cream smoothed over any lines I had and really made my face look more refreshed and perky.
I also really enjoy the simple green packaging of these products and the essence-lotion looks a bit like it should be in a quaint apothecary or something similar. Both feel really luxurious and the bottles feel nice and weighted so they’re not easy to knock over and the youth cream features a little lid under the main lid, meaning it travels super well.
Have you tried the Drops of Youth range? What skincare products do you love at the moment?
