It’s Valentines soon, and whether you want to look lush for your date, or for a wild night out with the girls, it’s all about the lips. However whilst you want to pay attention to your lips, I like to go for something more soft and nourishing over a lip product that is more bold and daring. So I’ve put together a few of my Valentines lip essentials that are perfect at keeping lips moisturised and in good shape, all whilst adding a touch of colour and gloss. Rose shades, and neutral pinks are always a lip colour I gravitate towards, and normally something with the name ‘rose’ involved has me running towards it.
You want to make sure your lips are in tip-top shape to start with, and this Clinique Sweet Pot (mentioned in my faves, here) is a great place to start as it has a lovely scrub on one side of the little macaroon shaped pot, and a balmy tinted gloss on the other side. To follow once ive prepped my lips, I love a lip liner, and this Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk is my new bff as it works well with many lip colours on top as it provides the perfect neutral pink base to work with. I like to layer on top a bit of the New Look Pure Colour Liquid Lipgloss in 75 Sweet Rose on top, to finish the look, as once the gloss fades it leaves behind a lovely tint. I also really love the Dior Addict Lipstick in 571 Windrose as it is super moisturising, yet adds a touch of fresh colour, and a lovely high shine finish that lasts through a bit of food and drink.
