You might have noticed on my blog that I rarely post photos of myself from the face down. Well with a recent George at Asda campaign I decided to tackle those fears and these photos are the results and have reinforced the reasons why I do not take outfit pics and why I will neveeeer be a fashion blogger. But that aside it was actually quite fun and I have discovered some gems from George at Asda! George at Asda have a great, affordable selection of really lovely clothes, and in particular they have some amaazing dresses that are super versatile. I was set the challenge of styling one dress in a few different ways and this is how it turned out. I chose this Black Lace Shift Dress as my dress to dress up and down and seriously for £12 it is THE bargain of autumn for me, and it comes in red – very tempting. I’ve managed to wear this dress to many events already, including work, a funeral and drinks with friends. I found the dress totally true to size, and due to the lace overlay is super flattering and hides allll the food babies, trust me. So to jazz the dress up, for outfit number one I threw in a simple skinny polka dot belt and this amazing Fashion Box Faux Fur Jacket, which I wear with everything at the moment as it is the perfect jacket for this in between weather at the moment and to finish it off this fun Fringe Detailed bag and some simple boots (I cheated oops, the boots are from Dorothy Perkins, but sh, these are actually basically the same). For the second outfit I tried, emphasis on tried, to create a more dressy night out look, using the same Black Lace Shift Dress but this time with no tights, a statement necklace and some really pretty Royal Blue Gem Flatforms which are sooo comfortable but i’m not 100% sure they do anything for my milkbottle stumpy legs?
So here is what I learnt from this campaign: a) posing just does not come to me naturally, b) my legs reflect the sunlight they’re so white, c) THOSE FEET – flatforms do not suit me and d) George at Asda do really darn good clothes and accessories for amaaazing prices and right now I want everrrrything off of their site!
What do you think of these two outfits, how would you dress up/or down, the dress?
** Bonus point if you spotted Basil in the background of the first photo playing with his favourite pink glittery ball..
