May flew by, and so I thought I would share a few of my monthly favourites. Obviously number one is that I have finished my stint in education, and I am now a graduate! Secondly are some beauty faves, a nice little combination of trusty olds and new discoveries with separate reviews coming up this month!
Starting with my new loves, the L’Oreal Infallible 24hour Matte Foundation has become my new favourite drugstore foundation. I love the tube, the formula, the finish, the shade, you get it…a more in depth review of this will be up soon! Secondly I have been really enjoying the YSL Touch Eclat Blur Primer, and I find it goes beautifully with the L’Oreal foundation as the matte foundation may be too dry for certain skin types, and the YSL primer adds a gorgeous base to ensure a smooth and blurred effect. I love the tiny gold flecks in the primer as these don’t appear all over your face, instead they provide a gorgeous glow and the primer is fab at making foundation stay! My third new fave is this Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine nail polish by Rita Ora which I got in the gorgeous Latest in Beauty Capital Fm beauty box, in the shade Glaston-Berry, the perfect bright coral red shade for summer. It looks fab on toes as well as hands and I love the name, very apt for the start of festival season!
Now onto the trusty old favourites. I’ve been reaching for my Colab dry shampoo in New York more and more, and it was a saviour during long library days. I also had a root around in my ever expanding makeup stash and found my collection of Sleek blushers and forgot just how fab they are and how much I was obsessed with the Sleek blusher in Rose Gold (enjoy a very old review of this here). It’s the perfect summery peachy rose gold and it’s been brightening up my cheeks and adding a nice glow. Whilst rooting around in my stash I also came across a pair of No7 eyelash curlers, purchased yonks ago on a whim with a voucher. I probably used them twice before chucking them in the drawer of doom, until I found them and thought hm lets give these a go. And oh my god, how have I not been using eyelash curlers for the past few years?! They’re AMAZING and I love them, I will never never go back to uncurled lashes ever ever now! Seriously, go get some now.
Now that I am also no longer a student I have been really researching my makeup before I buy and utilising voucher sites and deals to make sure I get the best possible deal that I can. Voucherbin is a fab site for popping all current deals in one place and the Health and Beauty section in particular is fab featuring current deals and discount for sites such as Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, Philosophy and HQ Hair!
