On Wednesday I popped down to see the amazing Ladyboys of Bangkok, for what is turning into, my annual visit! I saw their amazing show last year (post here) and was invited down again this year for their latest show, Beauty and the Beats! Featuring songs from Jersey Boys, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Grease, Katy Perry and a magical Frozen finale (spoiler alert), the show was jam packed with sing alongs, amazing dancing and of course a lot of beautiful, show stopping outfits.
This will be the 9th year the Lady Boys of Bangkok have brought their unique brand of cabaret to the beautiful city of Brighton, and it’s clear the audiences here still have a thirst for live, immersive performances. Creative Director Phillip Gandey said he is thrilled to be returning to Brighton “It’s a new year and of course that means an all new Lady Boys show is on the road for another glamorous UK wide tour. Brighton Fringe is always one of our highlights as festival goers and locals alike really seem to get into the spirit of the show. Our brand new production, ‘Beauties and the Beats’, has been in the making since last November and we’re very excited to share it with our Brighton fans.”
We got a prime table right at the front centre, and with a cider in hand and some gorgeous prawn crackers, we were set up for a star studded show! I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go see the Ladyboys again next year! The ladies are bringing the beat back to Brighton like no else can from Friday 1st May to Saturday 30th May, in the Sabai Pavilion, Victoria Gardens, BN1 1UG – injecting some Thai spice into your 2015, so if you’re free head on down!
