Over the last few months I have been getting more into skincare and dare I say it, more excited about new skincare finds and purchases than makeup. The winter months and freezing cold weather havee recently left my skin a little worse for wear and the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask has been perfect for sorting it out.
I’ve never tried anything by Antipodes but in 2012 they won Best Natural Range in the Natural Health awards which all sounds fab to me. The Aura Manuka Honey Mask features a traditional remedy of the New Zealand Maori people and Manuka honey is a great ingredient as it powerfully draws moisture to your skin to hydrate it intensely why the light fragrance of vanilla pod and mandarin linger to bring peace and balance to your aura; ensuring that you’re giving both your skin and spirit a little TLC. The mask is idea for those prone to spots, blemishes and dry skin.
To use you simply smooth a thick layer (and I recommend a really generous thick layer to really reap the benefits) of the mask over your face and neck, leave for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. I found that leaving it on the skin for longer, around the 30-60 minute mark, left skin feeling even more nourished and refreshed and worked great as a nice Sunday treatment. I find it applies more like a thick creamy moisturiser than your typical face mask, but that’s all fine by me as it works like a dream. I’ve been loving using this to rescue my dry face and uni induced stress spots, although not the spot treatment I would automatically reach for, I’d say it’s more aimed at rescuing, hydrating and nourishing dry skin prone to break outs and to moisturise pesky spots to keep them at bay.
As well as loving the mask itself, I adore the packaging and I just wish I had a swanky bathroom with a pretty glass cabinet that I could pop all my pretty skincare bits in…i’m not the only one who has thoughts like that right?
Have you tried anything by Antipodes, what is your favourite?
