Ecotools

*Apologies for the dark photos, bleh this weather*I love makeup brushes, and this isn’t always a bad thing as the more you have the less brush washing you have to do. I know, the worst logic ever. The latest brand that I have fallen in love with are Ecotools. Ecotools are a leader in eco-conscious beauty products, with 100% cruelty free products and bamboo handled brushes, what more is there to love? Available in Boots and online on Feel Unique and other places, they’re really gorgeous and won’t break the bank either. I was kindly sent a selection of brushes to review and I was super amazed at the gorgeous packaging.

The first set that caught my eye is the Fresh & Flawless five piece complexion set*. A  gorgeous set designed to create a photo-ready complexion with mineral, powder or liquid makeup, with soft, cruelty free bristles, artists designed recycled aluminium ferrules and sleek bamboo handles. In this set you get a flat concealer brush, a buffing concealer brush, a precision foundation brush, complexion blending brush and full powder brush. Typically I never follow brush guidelines and normally never use them for what they’re intended and in this set I found that the flat concealer brush made a fab brush for packing on eyeshadow and the buffing concealer brush was fab for what it is designed and for also blending in eyeshadow! I then found that the precision foundation brush worked well for concealer and the complexion blending brush and full powder brushes perfect for powder and blusher!

The next set that I was excited to try was the Six Piece Starter set*, a nifty set with a gorgeous dual pocket cosmetic bag to keep everything fresh and clean. This set comes with two face brushes; a concealer brush and blush brush and 3 eye brushes; an eye shading brush, angled eyeliner brush and lash &brow groomer. I’ve been loving this set as the angled eyeliner brush has been really perfect for my brows as it is super soft, but dense and the perfect angle to maintain precise brows!

The last brush I tried out was the Retractable Kabuki*, a brush that i’ve had my eye on for a while as it looked so handbag friendly. The brush is super versatile and can be used for powder, bronzers and blush and is a perfect on the go makeup bag essential. I love the bronze colour of the casing and I love how dense the brush is too. The casing is super handy as it means the brush isn’t damaged in your makeup bag and stays cleaner for longer.

I was really excited to see that Ecotools have released some eyelashes and I was even more excited to see they’re latex free, an issue I often have with lashes/lash glue as I have a severe latex allergy! I tried out the Everyday Length* soft & natural looking lashes and they were supper pretty! The addition of a duel ended bamboo tool really stood out to me as the lashes come with a stick that has a nifty spooly on one end and a little poker thing on the other to push lashes onto the lash line when applying. Whilst I normally go for more hair-like lashes than plasticy-y ones, these surprised me and whilst I wasn’t initially a fan of the thick band, it meant I didn’t have to apply any eyeliner!

I’ve really loved getting to know Ecotools as I was pretty clueless on the brand before. I also have to say these brushes wash beautifully, although I did note that you have to be more careful with the bamboo handled ones not to get them too wet!

This post is also my 400th blog post, wow time flies!

Have you tried anything from ecotools before, what was your favourite? What is your favourite brush brand?
