Get into that dream dress for NYE – An Introduction to the 5:2 with LighterLife Fast

I’ve always had an issue with my weight and now that I’m older and drinking, uni and independence are on the cards, its a whole load harder. With a host of shops right on my doorstep, it’s easier to pop out for one thing and bring all the bad foods back. I tried a similar diet and it went well. But it was only for a week. Afterwards I got on track with eating well, but then I went home for summer and eating out with my friends and my mums yummy cooking/portions and my lack of control got a hold of me!

So I’m trying something new. The 5:2 ‘diet’ has been raved about, you simply eat normally (healthy as you can) for 5 days, and then for any 2 days of the week, they don’t have to be consecutive, you limit yourself to 500-600 calories. By ‘fasting’, it doesn’t actually mean you eat nothing, instead, it’s about restricting your calories, which is about 25% of your normal daily calorie intake.

LighterLife Fast is a great way to keep your weight in balance – and their Fastpacks are perfect at doing just that. When you’re fasting, you need to make sure that every calorie counts. If you eat conventional food and restrict it to 500-600 calories, it’s impossible to get the recommended daily allowances (RDAs) of vitamins and minerals that your body needs. The good news is that by replacing conventional food with four LighterLife Fastpacks, you’ll ensure that on your fast days you get 100% of your daily nutritional requirements. That’s because Fastpacks contain all the protein, fibre, essential fats, vitamins and minerals you need without the extra calories.

By eating four Fastpacks (for example, a soup, a bar, a shake and a meal) on your fasting days you don’t have to worry about your nutrition at all. And because they’re really easy to use, you don’t have to worry about shopping, cooking or calorie counting. LighterLife Fast is intermittent fasting made easy as looking forward to 4 items to eat/drink during the day makes it feel more normal.

I’m going to be trying out LighterLife Fasting for 3 whole months, and sharing my progress every few weeks/monthly with you all on here! I’m excited as trialling this change in eating will me more of a long term thing, and who knows, I might keep it up into the New Year too! I can’t wait to share my progress with you all, but just a little warning, I don’t feel comfortable sharing exact measurements, so instead each time I do an update i’ll include measurements that have (hopefully) gone down etc and things I notice about how my clothes fit. I can’t do pounds lost as I have no scales!

Wish me luck!

Have any of you tried LighterLife Fast or any sort of 5:2 diet?
