I’m petty boring when it comes to my hair. I stick to subtle shades of red/blonde/brunette and after last years summer dip into the blonde pool, and then redying my hair brown in October, i’ve been left with blonde ends and roots about half way down my hair. Resulting in a fairly natural, very uneven, and totally unintentional ombre look. I recently won a Hairtrade competition and won £100 of vouchers. I’ve always lusted after hair extensions so it’s the perfect opportunity. However I needed to first make my hair all the same colour..
When Tai Hair & Beauty, based in Hove, got in contact, it was perfect timing! My hair has finally grown a little but is looking a little scraggly and uneven and I couldn’t wait to sort out the colour! I got booked in for an appointment with the salon owner, Sherri and I was super excited. Sherri, the founder of Tai Hair & Beauty has more than 15 years experience in hairdressing and opened Tai in 2005 after seeing the need for a salon with a focus on not only great hairdressing, but also outstanding customer service, and this is totally reflected within the salon. From the gorgeous interior design and layout, to the outstanding attentive staff, the salon feels really homey and not at all like one of those all white, harsh bright lights, clinical looking salons!
Sherri was fab and super bubbly and really looked after me, explaining everything as we went along. We decided on a cool toned chocolate brown shade with slight copper tones and just a basic trim to neaten things up. I also had a gorgeous hair treatment too to revive my hair and a lovely blow dry to finish. Sherri mentioned that you should rough dry your hair 75%/until it goes a little fluffy and then get the brush in for the last 25% to get a great style.
You can tell Sherri and her team are super passionate about what they do, and this is also reflected in the bustling salon, with a constant stream of new and regular clients. I had a really lovely time and I absolutely loved how she had done the salon, the interior was incredible and really fun! Next time I need a cut or colour i’ll definitely look into going back.
Have you done anything crazy with your hair in the past? Can any of you recommend any salons in Bright & Hove, have you tried Tai before?
