I love using mineral makeup and discovering up and coming makeup brands and In the Buff Mineral Makeup are just that. In The Buff, founded and develped by Becky Laroc over the past 2 years, was initially created because she had a semi-permanent lash training company and she wanted to develop an eyeliner that wouldn’t affect falsh lashes. She succeeded and so decided to increase the range to what it is today. In The Buff makeup is 100% pure mineral and their ethos is to enhance natural beauty rather than to mask it, which is fab! All the products and packaging are also currently manufactured in the UK, another factor I love about the brand.
I tried out one of their mineral eyeshadows from the ‘Hint of’ range, which are all named and inspired by nature, in the shade ‘Freshly Cut‘. The eyeshadow came packaged really beautifully in some environmentally friendly packaging and I was really excited to try the shadow out.
I normally shy away from loose pigment eyeshadows as they can be fiddly, however they are so pigmented that I do love to dabble in loose shadows now and then. The shadow is so lovely and the pigment is so strong and it feels so light and natural on the lids. Freshly Cut is a cool toned, light ashy taupe, and I can imagine could work well as a brow shade too. I love using this in the crease, or as an all over simple wash of colour. The fab thing about loose shadows is that they can be applied wet or dry, they offer great longevity due to the purity of the pigment and wear well on the skin.
What do you think about mineral makeup? Do you like to use loose shadows? What is your favourite mineral makeup brand?
