Prom Perfect

It’s that time of year. Prom season. My youngest sister has just finished her GCSES and thus her prom was the next big thing going on in her social calendar. Being the bestest big sister that I am, I offered to do her hair, makeup and to take photos at various locations( our house, her friends house, school!) I thought I would share a little bit about what I did hair and makeup wise and share a few photos of her looking all glammed up, grown up and gorgeous!

I plaited the sides loosely and pinned them down, although these unpinned a bit. Then we simply used an elasticated hairband, bought from Claires, and popped this on the crown of the head, over the top of the hair and then roll tucked the hair into place.Tucking in stray bits, neatening up, pinning into place and hairspraying where necessary. Voila. Effortless, simple and sophisticated!

I find that for prom you want to go natural and fresh with your makeup, not too overdone. You want to let your amazing prom dress do the talking really! For the base we used the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, with some Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, a pop of powder and some bronzer to finish. For the eyes we primed with my MUA eye primer and then used MAC Naked Lunch and Mulch to create a subtle brown smokey eye. We then used Urban Decays Crave, a matte black, to softly line the upper lash line. We used the Maybelline Collosal Volume Mascara, a touch of Rimmel lipstick  and we were done.

Izzy’s dress was from Coast and doesn’t she look gorgeous!

Have any of you had proms yet, how were they? Any of you done anyones prom hair/makeup or photos?
