On Thursday I was in London for an evening Body Shop launch, and when I was e-mailed about the Hobbycraft Halloween and Christmas press show on the same day, I just had to pop in!
Christmas is my favourite time of year and there were Christmas decorations aplenty! There was a lot of hands on creative things to do, which Laura and I couldn’t wait to get involved with. There was a station to make duct tape ribbons, pompoms, loom band bracelets and most importantly, cake pop decorating. We started off with some loom band making, the latest craze to hit the UK and I am now proud to say i’m sporting a rather pretty, sparkly, glittery loom band bracelet. Although it took me a while to get going, it’s pretty confusing stuff, I quickly picked it up! We were also shown how to make pompoms in a matter of minutes with a handy ** and it’s incredible. There was even a pompom wreath and garland they had made, which looked amazing! After looming away we shuffled onto the cake pop table and decorated our own cake pops. The rather muggy weather meant that they didn’t set too well, but they looked cute. Sadly I had an accident with mine as we left, resulting in blue icing on my chin and half a cake pop in the road..
After getting creative we had a little peek at the downstairs Christmas grotto which was decorated beautifully, with some incredible cookies, cakes, decorations and a lucky dip! On the way out we were also given a goodybag and I got an awesome Kirstie Allsopp Vanilla Votive Candle Kit, which I can’t wait to get started with!
