Who doesn’t love healthy, glossy hair, and with a whole host of products on the shelves that claim to do the same thing, it can be hard to know which one to go for! In a recent Daily Mail blind test including professional hair products, the Charles Worthington Shine Booster All Over Gloss Spray* came out on top with a high score of 30. I’m often dubious as to whether you can add shine to hair after you’ve washed and blow-dried and that’s exactly what this blind test aimed to uncover!
6 products were decanted into identical plastics bottles and were given to a lab for a blind testing; a lamp simulating daylight was shone onto the strands of dry hair and digital images were taken before and after the application of the glosser. These images were then analysed by a computer which calculates the ‘shine factor’. A score of 10 or more gives a noticeable result and anything with a minus figure actually makes hair less shiny!
Charles Worthington says ‘This product really does give a glassy finish to all hairstyles. The key ingredient is crystal extract for the ultimate mirror shine and the trick is to spritz sparingly over your finished style, or if your hair is fine or oily, spray a small amount int your hand and run through hair’
What did I think? The majority of women want glossy, shiny locks and that is exactly what this spray promises! It’s affordable and accessible, retailing at just £5.99 and available exclusively to boots! I love the colours of the Charles Worthington products and this nifty little spray comes in a golden 100ml bottle, which I can see lasting me forever as a little bit of spray goes a long way. I love the smell of hair products and this spray doesn’t have a fake smell, it smells of hairdressers- which is one of my favourite smells! I’ve been loving using this to make my hair look a little more healthy in between hair cuts and looks gorgeous on both curled or straightened hair! It also looks gorgeous in this sunny weather, as the light really makes your hair look super, super glossy!
I have a bit of a soft spot for Charles Worthington products, what is your favourite CW product? What is your favourite shine secret or product?
