Rimmel are one of my favourite drugstore/high street brands and the stay matte pressed powder is my all time favourite powder. I was in Sainsburys last weekend, oh the fun, and I spotted the Rimmel stand, and saw that their foundations were all £5 instead of the £6.99 RRP (still a bargain foundation price!). And couldn’t not give the hyped about Match Perfection a whirl! And whilst I might’ve said in my beauty resolutions post that I was on a spending ban, I recently ran out of my Revlon Nearly Naked foundation, so it was a sort of necessary purchase.
I picked up the shade 100 Ivory, the most perfect drugstore foundation shade I have come across to date. The Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation has a medium, buildable coverage, that leaves a natural, flawless complexion. and a fresh finish. It lasts all day and has an SPF of 18, what else would you want? I find that it conceals imperfections well, and the formula is enhanced with sapphire radiance for an illuminating glow that never falls flat. I’d say the finish is quite glowy and wet, however when set with a powder there aren’t any problems and the shade just matches my skin colour beautifully. It lasts well on my skin, however I wouldn’t say anything beyond the 8+ hour mark, and a powder towards the end of 8 hours is necessary.
The packaging is simple and useful, with an effective pump and a nice heavy glass bottle that makes it feel robust and expensive. I love the bright blue theme as well.
This has quickly become my go to foundation and I can’t see myself purchasing another drug store foundation over this one, for a long time!
