Lily Lolo Mineral Cosmetics Smoky Rose Quad Review

I’ve been really into  my eye shadows lately, and with the latest addiction to my collection being the gorgeous Lily Lolo Smoky Rose Quad* from the new Classics and Metallics Collection, I thought it was time to do a review. Lily Lolo are a mineral cosmetics brand, offering gorgeous products such as their eye shadows, lipsticks and brushes. Their new autumn/winter collection features two beautiful shimmer stripes products, two eyeshadow quads, a handful of pretty eyeshadow duos and the most perfect selection of berry and autumn/winter lipsticks!

The Smoky Rose Pressed Eye Shadow Quad is a limited edition palette containing a shimmering white perfect for highlighting, a dusky/peachy rose, a taupe shimmer shade and a rich matte brown shade.  The eye shadows are fragrance and talc free as well as containing jojoba oil which nourishes and moisturises whilst being vegan friendly.

I’ve never tried anything from Lily Lolo before but I have read rave reviews about the brand, especially about their powders and lipsticks, so I tried out this quad with fairly high expectations. The shadow’s are fairly soft, not the butteriest of formulations, but not the worst either. They blend in easily and I had no issues with fall out. I found that the shades were at their best with primer underneath and that it increased the longevity of the shadows, as I find with most eye shadows as I have fairly oily lids.

Lately I’ve really been into taupe shades, especially my MAC Satin Taupe shadow, so I was intrigued to see how this taupe shade would match up- and so fair I’ve been impressed. (although nothing will beat my MAC Satin Taupe, I lovelove it!!) I’ve been really enjoying popping the slightly shimmery taupe shade all over the lid and using the matte brown shade to contour the outer corners, to create a lovely smoky effect. I also then like to pop the pearly white shade in my inner corners and under my brow bone. So far I haven’t worn the rose shade as I find it is a slightly summery shade but hopefully it will get some wear in the next few months, or whenever I next feel a little adventurous.

The packaging is also really lovely. I love the grey packaging it came in, with the pretty design and the embossed silver logo. The white compact of the quad itself is fairly simple and handy. It’s nice and compact but I can see it getting grubby if I leave it in my make-up bag.

Overall I really like this eyeshadow quad and it is lovely for this time of year. The Smoky Rose Quad retails for £18.99.

Have any of you tried anything from Lily Lolo? What is your favourite mineral cosmetics brand?
