Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 002 Radiant Rose Review

I was in Poundland recently with my sister looking for bits for a fancy dress outfit she was putting together, and of course I was drawn to the usual section in poundland. The beauty bits. There were a fair few good bits and bobs on sale but I restricted myself to one item and I was super chuffed to find the Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 002 Radiant Rose. There were also some Dainty Doll eyeshadows, some CK eyeshadows and other Rimmel and Sally Hansen bits. These shimmer touch products retail for around £4.99, so £1 was a fab deal!

The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation has been raved about across many blogs and YouTube’s and I tried it out myself, but I hadn’t yet tried this illuminating cream. It claims to be a lightweight, ultra-blendable mousse formula that gives an instant touch of radiance and wakes up skin with a healthy-looking glow. Providing a long lasting flush of colour.

Shade wise, I would have preferred the shimmering sand shade, but I couldn’t see one. I have slight redness in my skin so pink highlighters don’t always work wonders on me, but so far this one provides a lovely subtle radiant rose glow, perfect for summer! I think it can look quite scary when swatched as it does a appear a little more glitterball thaan soft, subtle shimmer. I think if used in the right places and sparingly this can look pretty paired with pink blushes, or my Sleek Rose Gold blush. For a highlighter this provides a little more colour than I would usually prefer, but used sparingly it can be okay and also works well popped over a blusher too.

This product comes in a 14ml handy little squeezy tube and is easy enough to get product out of.

Overall I probably wouldn’t gravitate towards this shade in boots, or pay full price. But for £1 it’s a handy product to have and is very pretty and handy to have in my collection!
