Vichy Idealia BB Cream Review

Now that the weather is finally behaving, and acting more like summer, the mission to find the perfect lightweight foundation/BB cream is on every beauty bloggers mind! I’m quite a fan of the Maybelline BB cream and the Witch BB cream in particular. I haven’t actually tried any Vichy products before, but I have a few products on my wishlist (micellar water i’m looking at you!) and seeing as I’m on the hunt for the perfect BB cream, the Vichy Idealia BB Cream* seems like the perfect place to start in my Vichy relationship!

Available in just two shades, light and medium, this BB cream claims to create an ideal skin quality and complextion and to illuminate the skin instantly as well as hydrating the skin and  visibly smoothing out wrinkles. It also claims to refine skin texture, reduce dark spots, as well as containing UVA and UVB protection, with an SPF of 25. This BB cream definitely tries to pack a lot of amazing qualities into one product, and so I was quite excited to test this out! As well as packing a whole load of great skin benefits into one tube, this BB cream is also paraben free, hypoallergenic and made with Vichy thermal spa water which soothes and fortifies skin without a greasy finish.

I love the sleek, luxurious look to this product and the colour of the packaging is such a pretty colour! The tube of the BB cream is again sleek and stylish and has a perfect thin nozzle and squeezy tube, simple! I love squeezy tubes as it means getting every last bit of product out is made that bit easier!

With the current humidity at the moment, it has been the ideal opportunity (ideal, idealia, oh my haha) to trial this BB cream, as on most days I have been wanting to even out my skintone and have a natural finish, but to not go makeup free. This humidity and weird weather means a nice oily t-zone, so an even better situation to test this BB cream out!

I found this BB cream to be much lighter on the skin than say the Witch BB cream and found it practically melted into the skin and felt very natural and comfortable. I also definitely noticed the lightening properties and it lasted on my skin much longer than other BB creams I have tried. I found that a powder was needed for me to set this, but as is the case with all bases I use.

The only downside of this has been the obvious shade range, as light and medium doesn’t exactly cover the wide spectrum of skin tones. Luckily I fall into the light category. I would also say there was slight floral/fresh scent which may upset very sensitive skin, but I have sensitive skin and had no problems. Oh and I accidentally rubbed this into my eye, IT BURNED. So, just a little warning there.

On escentual.com Vichy products on offer at the moment, so make sure to check it out! This BB cream is currently £16.80 with an RRP of £21
