April Birchbox

In my opinion, the fad of beauty boxes are over and done with, and I only dipped my toes in the world of beauty boxes once and that was the September She Said beauty box (post here) , which I really did enjoy, but I couldn’t really justify the price tag and I decided I would much rather spend this £10-12 treating myself on one product that I really wanted.

However this month I was offered the chance to try the April Birchbox and I couldn’t say no, I’ve seen a tonne of my favourite American YouTubers rave about this box for ages, so a chance to try it out was amazing! With such a high reputation in the US (with a subscriber base of over 300,000), it’s launch in the UK was widely anticipated. Every month, Birchbox members receive a personalised box filled with a selection of beauty and lifestyle treats, including makeup, skincare, haircare and lifestyle extras. Birchbox works with 400 global brands which means there really will be something for everyone!  The website is also really easy to use and offers a simple platform to buy the actual products through if you enjoy them after trying them.

I received my box super fast and it came packaged in a bright pink box. Inside was my beautiful Birchbox, made from cardboard and with a shiny pink, foil? trim and the Birchbox logo embossed in hot pink on the front. In my opinion this box is the perfect size and because each half of the box are the same size, they make a perfect storage solution! The lining of the box also has the logo printed all over it. Inside my box was then a hot pink drawstring bag, also with the logo on. Inside were the goodies!

The products that I received in my April box were a Glossy Kiss lipstick by Mirenesse, a Cold Cream Soap by La Societe Parisienne De Savons, a Skin Food moisturiser by Weleda, a Relaxing Conditioner by Green&Spring and an Anti-Aging Serum by Gerda Spillman! A lifestyle extra that was included was a cute Paname Paris Mirror, perfect for chucking in a makeup bag or your handbag! Overall i really enjoyed this selection of products, especially the lip product, it’s basically a lip version of my favourite Sleek Rose Gold  Blush! This is what i do love about beauty boxes, the opportunity to try brands you wouldn’t typically opt for, and to try brands you hadn’t heard of before.

I really enojoyed this box, but right now I prefer to spend my money on one product I really want, but I understand how fun the mystery is and finding out about new brands is also great! Thanks Birchbox for my gorgeous box!

Birchbox** costs £10 + P&P and make sure you check out the website too!

Tomorrow is the Brighton blogger meet, so if you’re going, see you there! I can’t wait! keep an eye out for a blog post about it soon as well.
