I’m not the biggest haircare fanatic, but i do like to achieve volume, shine and healthy looking locks and lately my hair is in the best condition it has been for a while, so i thought i would share how i maintain my hair and what i love! (again i apologise for the rubbish photos, i still don’t have a camera so i am using my Iphone 3gs, not good!)
Firstly i wash my hair every 2-3 days, depending on how it is and where i am going. My favourite shampoo/conditioners are the VO5 ones, the Pantene Aqualight duo or the John Frieda Full Repair, Full Body shampoo and conditioner. Every Friday i like to use my Herbal Essence Split Ends treatment (post here) or my Aussie 3 Munute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner for Damaged Hair and then once a month (usually coinciding with the Friday treatment) i like to use the Boots Expert Build up Removal Shampoo to de-clog and clarify my hair of all the build up of product etc.
After washing my hair, if it’s feeling a bit dry i like to use my VO5 Miracle Concentrate and then i like to spritz the ends of my hair with my VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray. I like to leave my hair a little to dry by itself or i pop it in a French plait and leave it to dry that way. To comb through wet hair, i use a wide toothed comb or my Denman Tangle Tamer (review here).
On days where i like to add a little extra volume to my hair, i gravitate towards a hair mousse, my favourites are the VO5 Plump it Up Weightless Mousse (review here) or the L’oreal Tecni-art Volume Riche mousse in Force 4 (review here).
I only try to use heat tools on my hair a couple of times a week, and i use either my Babyliss Elegance Metallic Purple Straighteners or my Mark Hill Sexy Waves and Curls Wand.
Do any of you use any of these products? What are your haircare essentials?
