Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blueberry: Review

I love Barry M nail polishes, but when the new Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints came out, claiming to be a ‘Hi Shine Gel effect nail paint that provides an extra glossy finish‘, i wasn’t terribly motivated to go out to get one asap, i am not sure why. I was browsing boots the other day and saw what gorgeous colours were included in the range, especially Blueberry, Prickly Pear, Grapefruit and Pomegranate. These retail for £3.99 instead of the usual £2.99, and in my opinion this extra £1 was well spent. In Boots there is currently an offer where you can get a free gift of the nail paint in Gold when you spend £6 on Barry M! For £3.99 this is still a really lovely affordable nail polish.

Sorry about that bit of sun, making the most of decent light!

Blueberry is a gorgeous cornflower blue colour and although pale and also bright, it goes perfectly for this season, and i really want to do some nail art with white polish to make my nails look Christmassy, if you have any ideas/posts about this let me know!

I found that the polish was extra shiny, but this only lasted one day, and i don’t really know what they mean by gelly formula, if anything the nail paint on my nails just looks quite thick once applied. It took 2 coats for perfect opaqueness and did dry fairly quickly, a great thing for a fairly pale shade. The only difference with this formula i found is the chipping time. I wore this for about a week before any signs of chipping showed, which was very impressive

Overall i didn’t really notice anything special about this gelly hi-shine formula, other than great wear time. I love the colour range so i will be picking up a few more, there are some perfect dark winter shades too!

I give this nail polish 4.5 Sophie Hearts!

Have any of you tried this nail polish, what did you think?

I am also running out of Top 5 Tuesday ideas, if you have any ideas let me know in the comments!
