Okay, so its no lie, i love getting freebies and samples from online sites such as Magicfreebies (the health and beauty section) and through Facebook. Recently i applied for a sample of the Lancome La vie est belle, L’Eau de Parfum. The 30ml of this retails for £39, 50ml for £56 and 75ml for £75.
I received a nice 1.5ml spray, cased in a gorgeous little box. The packaging was lovely and classic featuring a pearly white with rose gold edging. I loved the little laminate card include, which on the front featured a picture of the bottle and on the back said ‘please find enclosed your complimentary sample of our new femine fragrance, La Vie Est Belle. We hope you enjoy trying our Eau de Parfum and as a gift, Lancome invites you for a free personalised make up consultation to discover our Autumn Winter Collection’. I thought this was a sweet touch and made the whole thing feel very personal.
Inside the little cream-pearl and rose-gold box, it describes where the name comes from, ‘French expression- Life is beautiful’. It is laid out like a dictionary definition with ‘1. Philosophy of life and happiness or universal declaration to the beauty of life. 2. Eau de Parfum with the noblest natural ingredients (concrete of Iris Pallida, Jasmin Sambac Absolute, Orange Blossom Absolute, Patchouli Essence…) lain on a bed of fine delicacies/ 3. Unique olfacory signature exclusively created for Lancome by three of France’s leading perfumers’. The three leading perfumers appear to be Olivier Polge,Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo.
Iris is the key ingredient of the perfume, surrounded by orange blossoms and jasmine in the heart. The composition’s opening provides fruity flavours of black currant and pear, while the base is warm and powdery due to almond-like accords of tonka bean, praline, patchouli and vanilla. This scent is composed of just 63 ingredients, allowing each to be fully expressed. This perfume is so impressive as it took 5521 versions and three years’ work to finally reach this gorgeous perfume!
Overall i was very pleased with such a generous sample and i really love this scent, as it isn’t too heavy and ‘adult’, but i think the perfect sort of scent for someone around my age, and of courser any age really, as it is gorgeous and sweet, with a slight floral scent, but nothing too overpowering (I’m not a typical floral scent lover) but still feels sophisticated, this is just my sort of perfume! It is also very long-lasting on the skin, and i am tempted to buy a full size, the bottle is so pretty and feminine it would look gorgeous in my room, and i think this could make a great Christmas present! How lovely is this Christmas set?
Have any of you tried this fragrance, or any perfumes by Lancome?
