L’Oreal Tecni Art Prize! Mousse and Liss Control

So after falling in love with VO5, i have discovered i enjoy haircare! Recently i won a competition with L’Oreal (I think it was through the Facebook page) and i won a L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Volume Riche Strong Hold Mousse (250ml)  and L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Liss Control, Smooth Control Gel-Cream (150ml) This was a fab prize to win and came within 20 days of me winning! I couldn’t wait to try these out as soon as they were delivered!

First up, the mousse. Lately i have discovered a new love for haircare, and this was awakened by my love for the VO5 Heat Defence Volume Whipped Mousse, which is a middle of the range, amazing mousse. After trying this and receiving this set, i was very excited to try out this mousse, as it is a more expensive mousse. It was easy to dispense and came out less creamy than the VO5 one, and more foamy. It looked like a snowball instead of whipped cream. The scent reminded me of hairdressers, and it smelt very expensive and professional. This Mousse is ‘Designed to work together with heated tools and helps protect the hair fibre and ease detangling whilst providing lasting volume’.  The website recommends to ‘Apply to towel-dried hair. Shake the can well and hold upside down. Release 1-2 mandarin sized amounts into hands. Spread evenly through hair with a comb or fingers and blow-dry in’.  This product is described as being a 4 in force terms, being a strong hold.

I loved that a little went a long way with this mousse, and i adore the smell, it smells just like a fancy hairdressers. I also think i prefer the consistency of the mousse itself to the VO5 one, that i have previously tried. I loved this from the start. My hair was bouncy, soft, volumised and light. It also was easy to style, with lots of grip, and i found my hair when styled and a little back-combed etc stayed longer than normal. I give this 5 Sophiehearts, i couldn’t find any faults with this product, the only teeny niggle being that this is just a tad on the pricey side for me for a mousse. Although i would still probably repurchase and it is of amazing quality and it does feel, as the name suggests, professional!

Next up, the Smooth Control Gel Cream. The back of the tube says ‘Apply 1 to 2 hazelnut-size drops onto washed and towel-dried hair. Spread evenly with a comb on to lengths and ends. Re-apply if necessary depending on length and thickness of hair. For smooth results, blow-dry the hair. To control frizz, allow to dry naturally’. First up, who actually knows how big a hazelnut is? For me personally i have no idea and i am allergic to hazelnuts, big time, like they’re life-threatening to me. Also, at the moment i am opting for more volumised hair. However i can see this being fabulous for when i want a sleek night out look with straight, shiny, smooth hair. The consistency is definitely a gel-cream consistency, being creamy but gel like, duh. The website says ‘Up to 24-hour frizz tamer, this soft cream controls and smoothes frizzy, rebellious hair, with a natural-looking shine’. This product is also described as being a 2 in Hold Terms, being light. I haven’t had an opportunity to try this out yet as i am trying not to straighten my hair and i also prefer using a mousse. I will keep you updated on this!

Overall i was ecstatic to win this prize and to try out the products. I love the salon-quality of the products and i would consider repurchasing in the future, although they are on the pricey side of hair products. I also love the simple packaging, which also contains a lot of product. I give these 5 Sophiehearts overall!

Have any of you tried these products or anything from this range?
