So, about this time last year i would wash my hair everyday without fail, because if i didn’t wash my hair every morning, it would be disgusting. This year however, one of my new years resolutions was to try and wash my hair every other day. So far i have kept it up and now i can even leave my hair longer without washing it! However, none of this could have happened without the aid of my trusty dry shampoo’s. Now when i first heard about dry shampoo everyone was raving about the Batiste one, so i thought why not, lets try it. I did not like it. It left a weird feeling to my hair and left white patches. I do realise now though they have ones on the market targeted towards specific hair colours etc so that this problem does not arise, but since my experience i don’t really want to try it again. I was also in Boots one time and the Batiste Nude for a couple of pounds. It is very similar to talcum powder, which in my opinion is quite effective and removing oil. However whilst i don’t love it, i don’t hate it and sometimes i put some in my hands, rub together (can be quite messy) and rub through my hair sort of half way through the day to add some volume if my hair is looking a bit dull or on second day hair if i am out of my other more preferable dry shampoos. I would give the Batiste Dry Shampoo 2 Sophie Hearts and the Nude Dry Shampoo 2.5 Sophie Hearts. Although i think i should try the Batiste dry shampoo again as it probable used it wrong or something and the formula may have been updated.
Now enter the Tresemme ‘instant refresh’ dry shampoos. I believe there is a wide range of options to cover all hair types/needs and one waterless foam one (which doesn’t appeal to me personally). I tried the Volumising Dry Shampoo ‘for fine to oily hair, it removes oil and boosts body with lemongrass’, the Radiance Dry Shampoo Translucent Formula ‘for all hair shades, removes oil with no visible powder residue. Professional quality.’ and the Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo ‘for normal to oily hair which removes oil and boosts body’. I have to say the Tresemme Dry Shampoo’s are my favourite dry shampoo’s so far that i have tried as they never leave white streaks and soak up excess oil very effectively, as well as being very voluminous. Although i have found that the Radiance one made my hair a lot lighter, more voluminous and almost a little fluffy? (in a good way). So i am leaning more towards the radiance one as my favourite out of the 3, but when it comes down to it, all 3 are in my top 3 of Dry Shampoo’s! I would give this Dry Shampoo 5 Sophie Hearts.
And last but by no means least are the VO5 Dry Shampoo’s. As far as i am aware there are 2, the Plump Me up Dry Shampoo ‘For fine flat or Oily hair’ and the Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo for normal to oily hair. However i have only tried the Plump me up dry shampoo as it is currently on offer in Supderdrug for £1.69, (however i can’t find it online) so i thought why not pick it up and try it. So far it is hot on the heels of my Top 3 Tresemme Dry Shampoo as it provides volume and a good amount of grip, but as of yet it has not replaced them as my favourite dry shampoo but it definitely very close and I am finding that i am reaching for it a lot lately! I give the VO5 Dry Shampoo 4.5 Sophie Hearts.
